3 weeks

Crazy times!

I finally made myself a real meal.  Spaghetti with onion, mushrooms, garlic and green peppers in butter. OOOOOO so good.  I need some white wine to make it awesomeR. yea er.

Today I had my second meeting with the ol' boss man.  He talked all in Korean to a Korean teacher who told me what he said. Which is strange, because I know the man speaks great English.  Anyway I GOT PAID! WEEE! And it was just my 2 training weeks. So now I also get paid on the 10th. So 5 days of regular pay.  Rad - i- cal.

Nothing too exciting has been going on,  but I've heard some murmurings about travel come March and into the Spring.  China, Japan and Tawain. Weehoo! I'm soooo ready to get out of Korea and see something different. Yea 3 weeks and I want to see something new.  This weekend I'll be going somewhere in Korea.  I still don't know the names of the towns I've been too. I really should learn!

At work today I had to help interview a child.  She was SO shy.  The Korean teacher kept talking in Korean to get her to open up.  Luckily I found these weird fruit toys, where you can stick the two halves together with their velcro.  And I put one together and her face lit up like a Christmas tree.  Then she was all about life.  Chatty little one after that.  There were quite a few new kids being interviewed today.   Also come Monday I have a new class at 5.30.  This will be the oldest kids I teach.  Very different from the others I teach.  Most of them can put together simple sentences, but that's about it.  I tried to get them to put together a story.  As in I start the story with a sentence and they add to it.  Ummm yea we're gonna work on that.  They didn't get it...... nice kids though. hah

Now weekend YAY!

Highlights

Last night I had delicious Indian cuisine.  OH so good.  Best naan ever!  It was a fellow teachers birthday.  After that we went up to another girls apartment and watched Labyrinth.

Most important part on the short walk home, we stopped and viewed some merchandise.  Mel tried on some toques.  But you see the music was 'pumpin'.  They LOVE their hip hop and rap here, but this song was something you had to dance to. No choice. So I broke 'it' out with one of the other girls.  We got groovy in the streets, only to have a lady STARE at us like we were born on Mars (which honestly they might believe here).  So Mel sees her stares, points at the lady and just BUSTS out laughing, while we continue our busting.  Quite enjoyable.

Today, Mel and I walked around and went into some of the stores around our place.  I don't think I've actually seen people stare like they did today.  We had 2 old men STOP, turn around, move and let us walk through.  So I said foreigner in Korean and the kept talking, then following us for a bit.  Strange.  But that's something I won't get use to.  Cause they're aren't checkin out my sweet style or my wicked hot looks, but rather agape at my WHITENESS.  HOLY HELL CAN YOU BELIEVE IT I AM WHITE AND IN ASIA! SHOOOOOOCK.  Too bad you've had whities here for quite some time. HOLY.  It's different if it's a kid. Like ok I get it. But seriously adults need to not stare at me or I will stick out my GD tongue at you. Watch yourself people.

I have a flickr account if you can't see my photos on facebook.  Just send me an e-mail and I'll send you the link!

Weekend

Saturday, got together and had Pho.  This place in our building.  Realllly good food.  Plus they give you your leftovers in tupperware, microwave safe!

Then off the Psycho Bar.  It's for foreigners.  Yay English speakers.  We played free pool.  There were 6 people there? It was 8pm, so it's pretty early and it's their holiday weekend.  So one couple there was special.  White dude, Korean girlfriend.  She drunk off her ass, but still wanted to drink.  Mel caught her walking face first into the glass door.  Beauty.  Then she sat near us, spilt one of the girls drinks.  She walks over and the boyfriend says, sorry she spilt some of it.  Then the guy went and got her a new beer.  So those 2 now move on back to the bar.  Where she has trouble sitting.  The other girls are in mid-convo and I was playing pool only to look up and see this.  Her hand pulling his shirt down and her licking his GD NIPPLE.  WTF.  Holy shit, I don't think I have ever been so disgusted yet so entertained at the same time.  Drunks.

Then onto Noribong. Well McD's first for McNuggets! YES! and 7/11 for beer.  This Noribong was pretty damn sweet.  It has crazy lights and a little stage if you want to sing. IT WAS GOOD. Until the man came and took away our booze.  Here they want you to buy it from them, in our town BRING YOUR OWN!  But I think we were there for 3.5 hours or so at least 3.  We paid for 2 hours, but they give you free time. It's pretty awesome.

Got home about 3.30.  Not too bad at all!

Sunday, basically I went to this big electronics store. 9 stories plus 2 basement floors (which were E-Mart).  So each floor was a different type of electronic and then it was all individual vendors.  So strange, but good insofar that you can play off of them to get a better deal.

So we were looking for Super Nintendo games and old consoles.  Found nothing.  So the girl who brought us said it was her first time here so maybe we should go outside and look around.  Now it was Seoul, but I forget which area...sorry.  Anyway, we are walking around looking for shops with games or PC in their signs.  We found one but it was an arcade.

So we cross the street and walk.  There are a bunch of people crowding around oil barrels filled with wood and fire. So we're like what's going on.  We keep walking and I look to my left and say "Guy's there's a bus crashed into the side of a building and all it's windows are smashed out. I'm a little scared." So right after this, which is semi covered up with large cardboard stands in a way... we see this stand with several Korean man's photos.  So we assume it's a vigil and book it.  We get across the street and I take some photos, you can't see the bus but you can see the building is smashed.  The best part hasn't even occurred yet!

So the girl who brought us there said, "Let's go down here." This small alley, which is cleanish. So we saunter down the road, unaware of the horror/amazement about to behold our beloved eyes.  What is it we see? Oh these tiny little all glass rooms on the ground floor of the buildings.  How odd.  Looks like little beauty shops.  They have a little chair to sit on, a tv, a short couch, and even a little vanity.  Oh weird the light in there is red.  Oh man, why is there a girl sitting on the chair. OH SNAP IT IS THE RED LIGHT DISTRICT. YEA SIR. So I take two photos.  But none with ladies I did not want to get my ass handed to me.  As we were walking down and figured it out some other hooker (LITERALLY THIS TIME!) came to check it out.  Cause it was English speaking.  Yea.  Dressed in a very interesting fashion.  Saw it was 3 ladies and BOOKED IT.  hahah I believe Mel has a photo of 3 Korean men walking down the street behind us.  Yeeeeaaah.  NOT EVEN THE BEST PART!  So we get out of this small and short alley only to see the building at the end.  Police Station, yes.  So I get photos of this.  All of it is awesome.

So it's late and we get back into the building and have this great little snack.  Then up to the electronics store again.  And we did find the Super Nintendo games.  Sim City, Donkey Kong Country (I LOVE THIS GAME!) and something else.  The girl who brought us has the SNES system, which she has us over to play.  So we go to E-mart and find a better foreign food section than in Sanbon.  And by foreign I mean food from Canada-esque.  Awesome to see Heniz.

Anyway, we get back to the train station and our guide she is lost. hah it was funny to me, because I don't know the subway much at all.  But she was getting flustered, because you could get on 4 different lines from here.  So she stopped a group of non-Koreans, who she hoped spoke English.  Lucky for her this group of Mexicans were rad and helped us out.  They were a little confused too haha, but friendly thank god!  So we got home and had delicious fajitas.  Oh fajitas.

Monday was boring. Laundry, Internet and a new show called "Demons".  Then dinner with the girls.

Only two days left of my holiday :(

5 Day weekend starts now!

So Friday was a sham.

I get to work for my 10.35 class and was asked why I wasn't there earlier because I was suppose to MC.  umm what.

So the head of the co-ordinators asks me this.  I said I was told to be here for my 10.35 class and then I was told that I would be getting my physical after the one Korean girls morning class.  So yes she said it must have been miscommunication.  Right or I just wasn't told.  I never heard for 9.50 ALL day Thursday.  This place is such a dump.  Seriously.  It made me look like a moron.  Mel too.  I was not impressed.

Friday night was good.  I had some chicken galbi, spicy as hell, but very good and it had CHEESE! Which is hard to come by.  Then some pool, which was awesome. Canada vs. America.  Canada won by default.  But a win is a win.

Then we watched Valkyrie, which was ok.  Assigned seating and Korean subtitles. mwhahaha. Also there was beer and chips in the theatre.  A Korean dude got out of his seat and told a guy to sit back.  I'm assuming he couldn't read the subtitles.  The theatre is not as good as back home.  The seats were comfy, but you cant' put your feet up.  It's strange.  Maybe I can take a photo.

Tonight is a party in a different town.  Hopefully there will be karaoke.  That's the plan.

One More Day

UNTIL the 5 day holiday! Go Korea!  They have this Lunar New Year, where basically the entire country turns a year old all together.  So they all have a 3 day holiday, plus the weekend. WHOO!

So last night I got home from more Nori-bong (Karaoke) around midnight.  Hot damn those palces have some crazy songs. Like a little ditty called "dick in a box". Yea Mel and I sang it, Ceceila did not know about this song.  So it came as a great surprise. hah

4am I wake up with some crazy pain.  I get up and go to the washroom, assuming I'm gonna puke.  I end up getting faint and I lied on the floor.  Then I was fine-ish.  Went to bed.  I slept in until About 20 minutes before I had to go.  I woke up woozy still.  On the way to work I thought I was gonna just let it go in the streets. Luckily bodily fluids on the streets in Korea bother no one...

I got to work feeling ill still.  But after lunch I was better.  Tomorrow I have my physical, I guess we'll see if anything is wrong!

Wednesday Night Update

So no day is ever the same at work.  I'm telling you one day one class is just kids not paying attention, being bad and all that jazz.  The next day, fantastic.

I have NO CLUE what's going on.

Today my rather rambunctious kids were angles.  Then again I did crack down hard on those children today.  I was told to take control of them.  Man it is empowering, but I feel bad.  You know it's better for them to pay attention and all that business or no one learns.  Today they did great.

My class after is just usually awesome.  Today OMG horrendous kids.  I had to crack down on them too!  It was opposites day apparently.

Nothing too interesting going on.  I saw a Korean clown today on stilts.  It was scary and I did not enjoy myself.

Now I'm catching up on 24 and Jack does not disappoint.  LOST TOMORROW FOR ME. YAY

Costco Trip to Seoul

Well Saturday/today Mel and I joined the couple from the school and we went to Costco.  Again, the cab driver didn't put the fare on.  Whatev.  They got a twenty.

Inside Costco (a 2 story building) is utter insanity. Full of people and I don't mean full, like whoa Wal Mart was crazy full today.  I mean it's fucking Devonshire Mall Dec 24th fucking full.

Here is a lesson for you all.  While living in Korea just push your way through. Do not apologize and just be an asshole in general.  Seriously.  Like the town I'm in isn't that much different from Windsor.  By that I mean, there is apt buildings, clothing stores, it's small but has a lot in it (so i guess a bit different) but it's a family oriented town.  But the people here are absolutely different in pretty much every way.  Like they stare, they don't look at you, they STARE.  They will push into you, not move around you.  And it's not just that they say nothing when they hit me, but it's anyone.  It's really fucking annoying.  It is one thing I will NOT get used to at all.  It's just not friendly here at all.

So anyway Costco is 2 floors, so top is non food, bottom is food.  Mel and I spent 225 bucks there.  I got FOOD. I can EAT!  But there was stuff I wanted, but it was soooooo expensive.  Say a large bag of marshmallows....10 bucks. 10 effin bucks and by big I mean like the big marshmallows in a regular sized bag.  Everything is over the top price wise.  I have a list of stuff I want from home.  Yea it's been 8 days and I want food from home so bad.  I hate not having an oven.  Their toaster ovens are probably smaller than those little kid ovens with the lightbulb.  It's so strange.  At least I got cheese to make grilled cheese sandwiches.  Now all I need is butter and ketchup and I'm rollin'.

So on the way home it was about 10 minutes before we could get a cab.  It was kinda pricy coming home, but the couple offered to give us money.  They're far too nice, so they're obviously Canadian.  They're great.  We had a hot dog at the store (we could trust they were made of pork)  and we had to stand and eat.  Get our asses smashed by a-holes with their carts.  MAN I do not like it in there.  But getting food I know and love is worth it.

So now I have almost everything under control.  Just some work I want to get ahead on.  I'm going to sleep like a rock tonight. I'm excited for it, how sad. haha.

For the record, NO Canadian Costco Ice Cream.

FRIDAY

What a day!

So I meet Mel to get some photos done in the subway station.  They have a little booth right. It is 5,000 won.  Mel puts in her money and they take the photo. NOTHING prints.  So she goest to the window to get the only English speaker there to say, "We don't service that machine, you'll have to call the number."  Yea. That's damn fine English.  Mel wondered why she was working in a subway with all that good English happening. So she's pissed and we have NO clue where the get photos.  So we go off to school.

Right.

It takes us about an HOUR to get to school. Oh yea did I mention it snowed.  By that I mean maybe 2 cms worth over few hours period. Nothing serious right. HA. They A. Don't have salt to clean the streets OR the sidewalks B. Refuse to buy a snow shovel (I saw one) and C. Can't drive in snow.

I saw a leaf blower blowing snow off the ground. I SHIT YOU NOT.

So we are walking around in the snow our shoes by 30 minutes into the walk are wet as hell.  So we decide that we are so damn lost to just go home and call. (see the whole week we've been taxing it with the 2 girls from work so they know how to say where we work in Korea. Mel and I do NOT yet)  So on the way back we finally recognize the road and get to school.  We are 30 minutes late at this point.  Not to teach, but we were suppose to get our physical.  So the guy there at the school who is helping us asks for the photos.  Since we don't have them we will have to go back and get some.  Shit.  But we know how to get a taxi home.

We get in the white cabs (NOT the black ones, they are apparently INSANE drivers; white cabs kinda are too)  but we say Emart-uh.  Seriously.  Or Sanbon Yuk (Sanbon Station)  So we are on the way back and I notice this A HOLE doesn't turn on his meter.  Fuckface is trying to screw me over.  So not only have I already cursed this country all day to it looking the same and getting lost for an hour not this dingbat want ME to give him all sorts of money. RIGHT.  So we stop and Mel goes how much.  He just does the international I dont know what you said. So I said 2 dollars. (cause i'm not fool here asswipe) and he goes ahh ahh ok 2.  Cocksucker.

OK picture time.  We got instructions in Korean.  So we sit, take photos, wait.  Mel has the man call the school to tell our guy that our photos are done and we can meet him.  He says we have to wait for the photo.  So we sit while he does 2 more people.  Then goes 1 hour to us.  I do the hand signal 'we wait'. and he goes uh huh.  Does our stuff in like 10 minutes? PHOTOSHOPS the shit out of us.  I still look fucking awful.  Let's see trek in the snow for an hour, hair's wet and pretty much knotted to hell and well my face is my face.  It's so bad.  But he took out my dark circles.  Boy do I have them here.

So I get him to call the guy again and he says to meet him at Starbucks.  OH Starbucks.  Not that different from home, price wise, but the coffee was different for sure.  The man behind the counter had good English and told me how much in English, so that makes like easier.  Most places have a screen and that's cool.  So we wait.

About five minutes later he's there and we are off to get our physical.  It's 15 min away and it's now 11.40 or so.  He informs us he had an accident last night. Someone his his back bumper.  He's in a little pain.  SUCKS.  And with the snow on the road, it's chaos I tell you.  I saw a car MANGLED.  I think it must have spun out cause the back bumper was messed up.  Crunched from both sides at the hood, but the back doors were fine. Strange.  It's not fun to drive here when it's not snowing, let alone when there is snow.  He gets us there safely and we learn some new stuff in Korea. Like to buy a car here, you have a showroom only.  They bring cars from the factory if you want to test drive them.  It's different for sure.  I'll take a photo.  I think Hyundia is right by us. There are a lot of photos I need to take.

So we get there. Everyone is on lunch until like 2.30. YEA

Back to school, where we now open up a bank account.  Pretty smooth sailing.  That is until I'm back at school and one of the Korean teachers (who was setting up account for the 2 other newer people) dropped off a paper I have to bring back to the bank.  This country is not organized in the slightest.  But their subway run on time.  Wtf eh.

So at school.  I teach my one class and at the end this one little girl is CRYING. Like puddles on the desk. I'm not kidding.  I was pronouncing her name wrong and the boys were making fun of me for it.  It wasn't directed to her.  But she took offense.  FUCK I felt bad man.  I made the boys apologize....yea.... the boys were like wtf did we do.  They were fun that day too...ah well. I'll see them Tuesday and make it up to them all with candy or something.

Yes we can bribe them to be good with candy and gifts.

School is over.  I still have no schedule as to when I am coming in but what's new.  So Mel and I go home.  We were going to have Indian before girls night, but that didn't pan out.  Ah well.  We had Popeyes Chicken.  YEA.  Got some Cass beer, whose handle broke and it dropped on the floor, decimating one bottle. (See they don't have separaters in their boxes, so they all bang together.) At least it was in the store.  We waited and one guy told us we could go. So a new box in hand we went to the cash.  Got home and the ladies came over.  Two girls from school and one friend of one of theirs. Who is now a friend of mine.  Bitch can sing.  More on that.

So we paint our nails and do facials. It's about midnight and we go out to this place called the Pirate bar.  AWESOME. You get beer served in ice.  Like it's in a plastic thing and this huge like ice glass.  There are photos somewhere.  You drink your beer and throw it at this target.  Hit the target win a prize.  They have this like electronic prize wheel.  You can win beer, fries, whiskey all that.  2.50 a beer. I"M GOING BACK. hah..so my throw was so fucking bad.  Omg.  The worst of all the girls.  I threw like a damn girl, but it's made of freakin' ice people.  One guy there said nice throw. I said shut up. I know it's bad. haha

So from there we go to UFO. What's UFO you ask. KARAOKE ROOMS. Can we all say, "Stacey is in her glory." HOLY CRAP. 15 bucks, bring your own liquor, and you get an hour. Thing is you get free time all the time. So we were there for a few hours.  I sang my face off. 100% on Alanis, You Outta Know... they had That Thing You Do (which i didn't get to do), Pop goes my heart (from music and lyrics) WE DID AND WE RULED. Mel and I danced to that. Oh god yea. hah It was so so so so much fun.  Lots of songs.  I can't wait to go back there.

So one of the girls had something to do this morning and was asking the time.  I took a picture and showed her the time.  YEA NOT THE TIME.  I said it was 2ish. I got home at 5.45 am.  That's how much fun I was having.  OMG.  OMG. Seriously it's fantastic.  And now I have a headache and in dire need of a shower and then off to Costco!!!!! I'm very excited!

Thursdays

A new favourite of mine as we get off at 5.20! SCORE!!!

Today was good.  I only taught two classes, but the kids were great.  I did my first spelling test and dialogue.  Which apparently means the kids have to learn a dialogue and recite it to me infront of the whole class.  Love it.

I can get most of their names right now.....well I have about 3 classes down.  With 2 to go. But whatever don't judge me, it's A LOT of kids to remember.

Today get this.  Water was frozen so NO TOILETS. Yet we still had classes.  YEA. What? umm hmm I held it for 5 effin hours dude.  Not fun.

Ok, on the way home, Mel and I stopped to get fruit.  Which was easier than I thought because the man running the stand spoke excellent English.  Cool guy.  We will buy food from their often.

Then maybe I was saying how Japanese people are awesome.  Maybe some Koreans were pointing at Mel and I.  Whatever Japanese people have wicked style... I'll leave it at that.  So as I'm saying how cool they are (FYI.  Korean HATE the Japanese as they took over their country a few times and burnt all their shit to the ground) but yea so this girl in PERFECT English not even a slight hint of a Korean accent asks us to stop for a few seconds.  We assume she wants to practice English.

HAHAHAHAH no

MORMON.  I swear!  But she was nice hah let us go without a pamphlet too.

So now I wait to see if I am going out for dinner or eating the fruit I got and a PB sandwich.  My lunch was a breaded porkchop (2 huge ones, corn, some odd salad and a soup 4.50.  BAM no tip or tax.  Loves it.

Speaking on food.  One of the girls here told us a story.  It was her first few weeks I think here. And she and another girl went out to eat.  Here basically if you point to a photo they'll make it for you.  So they pointed to something and waited.  They got it and started to eat.  But it tasted really grissely.  So she just ate the veggies.  They left and went to school the next day or whatever and one of the guys at the school said, "Don't go to this restaurant they serve ONLY dog meat." Turns out THAT WAS WHERE SHE ATE.  YES in this town there is a place that serves dog meat.  I am worried hah because no one has told me where it is yet........

Hence Dunkin Donuts, Coca Cola, Baskin Robbins and Skippy are my dearest friends.  Look out 300 pounds I'm coming for you!

Seoul weekend!

So the two girls who live in my building took Mel and I up to Seoul.  We rode the train/subway.  It was great! The seats are heated! That's how the train is heated. So cool.  You obviously have to give your seat to the elderly but you have to leave these two seats at the end of the train always open. Or you get stares. Apparently unlike the ones we get now.  Insanity!  I get stares cause I'm apparently 4,000 pounds and it is shocking that I roam the Earth.  But really it's no worse than anyone else gets.  Apparently people try out their English on us.  So far when we all walked off the subway we got a "Hello, how are you?" or something like that from this cool looking old man with a LONG white beard. Radical. I swear.

So we had lunch at this place called Sand presso. GUESS WHAT THEY SERVED?! hah everything was good!  Afterwards we went to a palace. It was goregous, but SO SO cold out.  There will be photos on facebook and flickr.

After we went to this little outdoor market. Again FREEZING! outside, but a decent amount of people.  Apparently it's hard to move around there in the summertime.  Inside one store one man was talking about the flags on one of the girls bags.  He was nice, just trying out his English.  I got a touque for 8,000 won, some incense and a burner (which come in handy....Korea smells WAY different than Canada. Or at least it's different than Canada...I don't know. They cook fish and it smells fishy like everywhere. So strange.....)

Then off to the foreign food market. Where I got Lays Salt and Vinegar chips (YES! Chips are hard to come by in: A. regular at home flavours and B. tasting like they do from back home) and some pepper and salt.

Then a book store with English books.  I found Russell Brand's book and I had to get it.  Then we had dinner at a Middle Eastern place.  I had falafel. SO good. Not  greasy, just right.  It was really good. Then home and I think I fell asleep REALLY fast.

First day

Can we say confusion!?

It was totally insane.  I was so confused, yet had to figure out a lesson plan in like 2 hours.  I pulled it off, by the skin of my teeth. Not really it was TOTAL failure, but my second class was a riot! The one kid who shares a name with my brother is the funniest damn kid. Holy!  GREAT kids in that class I hope to keep them until I leave for sure!  The rest of the day kept getting better one by one.  Until the day was over.  It was 100% exhausted.  I was DEAD, but I had work to do at home, some marking some figuring out what to do in the classes.

Seeing as it's is Wednesday.

Tuesday went smoother and today better still. I know pretty much how things go on around here.  So that's great.  I'm observing classes, which at this point feel kinda redundant, but I have to so I won't complain TOO MUCH.

After work, (Third day of 9-7) we had dinner/work meeting.  Meaning the four new people had to sing.  So Bill (Canadian) sang 'O Canada' IN FRENCH! Hilarious.  I totally remember all the words, I'm awesome.  Claire (his wife...I think) sang 'I'm a little tea pot'. Mel and I as a duo sang. STEP BY STEP.  Mr. Kim gave up a BIG clap. We rule.  hahah.  Mr. Kim also gave up a toast, which was awesome. BUT my cup was full of beer. And apparently you have to chug it. I did so.  And that is where we are now.  Slightly tipsy. Good place to be in Korea. haha. So now I believe it is time to shower and get the Korean BBQ smell off me for the night. I will post after I'm clean about the Seoul trip! Which was AWESOME!

First Weekend

After the plane ride, where I managed to sleep 11-12 of the 14 hour flight, I was ready to go when we hit the ground in Seoul.  Sadly, I slept through the customs paperwork and got yelled at in Korean when I got off the plane.  Awesome.
Mel and I look around for our taxi driver who is suppose to have our names on a paper. We see NO ONE with that. Only one guy with a sign in Korean.  We wandered around the Seoul airport and found a McDonalds. We were hungry.  Mel tried to go in with her cart of luggage.  She got yelled at so we left.  Then I found a change machine so I could make a call to the "emergency" number we got.  I call the guy.  He's at the airport and says I have a black jacket on... right.  So we find him. He apologizes and we all go to the company van.
This van is decked out in bubbly cartoon characters.  Great.  GPS system was RADICAL.  So it was like a game show in the car.  Every time there was a speed camera or whatever it would beep to slow down.  You can only go 100 on this road apparently. ALSO the roads are bright as shit and TOTALLY distracting. I could never drive on these roads without some sort of accident occurring.
We get to our apartment building.  Simon parks the van.  These parking spots are so tight the side windows have a button to fold into the side of the car. If that makes sense. I'll find a photo. It's ridiculous. Now I know why Asians are so tiny. It's so they can get in and out of their cars in those damn spots!
So my apartment is on the 9th floor with a view of the subway station and a little bit of the mountain which is behind a bunch of tall buildings. Let's just say it was not exactly clean when I got in here.  Mel's was worse.  Plus we were missing a bunch of stuff.  So far I'm down a dresser, pots and pans, dishes, cups and utensils.
I showered and met Mel to walk around and get lunch.  Lunch was ice cream from Baskin Robins. It was ALL we could pronounce and actually know what it was!
Next blog will be the first time in the school.

Mission Statement

I'll be doing my best to keep those interested updated on what I'm doing while away.  Seeing as I'm 14 hours ahead it's a little difficult to chat all the time.  Hopefully I'll be interesting. HA who am I kidding.
